DEVELOPING THE MASTERPLAN AND THE CENTRAL CORRIDOR

The framework Masterplan has been prepared by bringing together the existing constraints for the site and the proposed drainage strategy, ecology strategy, landscape strategy, green grid, desire routes, open space, development areas and land use, access and movement. The various strategies can be viewed by clicking through to the individual pages on the dropdown menu under the heading for this section – ‘Developing The Masterplan’.

The four key strategies are summarized in a series of webinars below:

  • Landscape, Ecology and Open Space

  • Drainage Strategy

  • Movement Strategy

  • Land Use, Layout and Design

The central corridor

The central corridor is a key element, as this provides a linkage from the site, across the Burnham Road / Hullbridge Road junction, towards the railway station and the heart of the town. The central corridor is also where key community and recreational uses within the Masterplan will be located. The plan below provides an illustrative look at how this central corridor could incorporate the various uses and how this will connect to the existing town.
